In a sweet & intimate court marriage ceremony, surrounded by their loved ones, Masaba Gupta married her actor beau Satyadeep Mista. The beautiful couple met on the set of their Netflix show ‘Masaba Masaba’. The stunning bride wrote “married my ocean of calm” in an Instagram announcement.
For the wedding, unsurprisingly, Masaba & Satyadeep wore House of Masaba’s brand new bridal collection, which has yet to be launched!
Masaba adorned a gorgeous barfi pink raw silk legenga, paired with two dupattas: one in a lime green wallflower print and another with ‘open hearts’ rani pink. The Masaba Motifs on the outfit are a ‘chidiya’ and ‘palm’, representing a celebration of the union of tradition and freedom.
The designer recollects how Manjit Bawa’s work has always had a huge impact on her life, and the artwork consequently inspired the bridal line.
The bride subverted the trend muted tones that we’ve seen recently, and opted for a more colourful & maximal ensemble; setting a new trend with the return of colourful wedding wear. Gupta particularly said “India is a country of celebration and colour, and wedding wear should reflect that.”.
Some of the unique & standout elements truly make the outfit perfect for a Masaba bride. By opting for a double dupatta, Gupta embodies the beautiful layered effect on a bride, with numerous gorgeous drapes shaping the outfit.
The beautiful meaning behind one of her organza dupatta’s is the heart embroidery, which symbolises “The open heart”. She highlighted that this is a constant throughout their save the dates, invites, and everything relating to the wedding; as it embodies the mindset that Gupta and Misra entered the relationship with ‘an open heart’.
Gupta opted to wear her mother’s jewellery for her wedding. The conscious bride opted to upcycle the existing vintage jewellery collection, and layered them into a beautiful ensemble.
Another celeb, another intimate wedding – and we love it. Masaba Gupta shared her rationale behind a small court ceremony was the couples consciousness of ‘not wasting ridiculous amounts of money’. The couple are quite private and wanted to enjoy their special moment in the presence of their immediate family.
She was specifically vocal about how sometimes in our culture, couples make the mistake of the wedding being built on ‘outward validation’, as opposed to the couple themselves.
Whilst the ceremony was kept in the presence of their immediate family, they will be hosting a small private party with closer loved ones, of around 80-85 people.
The wedding was the first time that her mother, stepfather, father, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, were in the same room; celebrating their love. It was truly a special moment for them.
The entire family wore House of Masaba. Gupta styled herself and her husband in pink tones, whilst the family wore hues of yellow. The obvious theme of all the guests was comfort! The family wore kurtas, kaftans, and saris, which Gupta believes to be ‘the future of wedding wear’.
