Buying your Mehndi outfit from SHEIN?!

9th June 2022

Maybe it’s just us & our cookies, but has anyone else seen a range of kurti’s / kaftan’s popping up as SHEIN & Zara ads?! Loving the concept & inclusivity, but we’re all about supporting local & supporting sustainable 🌍

We’ve seen so many brides pick & design their own pre-wedding event bridal looks by mixing & matching outfits and existing pieces they find online or in their own wardrobe. We love the idea of utilising pieces which can be work with western & traditional wear, and we’re here to suggest some of our favourite sustainable alternatives from UK based businesses that you can support! Keep reading to find some of our top picks…

1. Coco Shrine Official

Oyster Dress with trouser & Pearl Scarf image 1
Oyster Dress with trouser & pearl scarf

This oyster dress caught our eye as a stunning piece, specifically the tiered pearl detailing at the bottom of the dress. It’s modern-day shape is the perfect dress for a glam night out in town, a classy dinner on holiday, as well as, styled for a wedding event / traditional wear. The neutral tones on all 3 pieces, make it a great fit to mix & match with other pieces in your traditional wardrobe as well – you can never have enough embroidered gold chunni’s in our opinion…

The founder, Ranj, says her brand stays away from the “old fashioned wear it once” attitute – and we totally agree!

Check out more of Coco Shrine Official here. Keep your eyes peeled for more of their MONACO & SAINT TROPEZ collections…

2. The Naked Laundry

Square tie bow crop top in cream, styled by Nikita, the founder of TNL

Built on providing versatile crop tops & skirts for all western & asian occasions, we love the range of sizes, shapes & colours The Naked Laundry provides for their customers. Their colour palette of options will definitely make you stand out of the crowd for all the right reasons, both at a wedding & a girls night out. Reds, pinks, browns, mauve, white, black – they’ve literally got it all!

Check out their Instagram to see the great range of ways that their pieces can be styled to perfection, the best addition to your wardrobe for all seasons!

3. Saashi London

Women supporting women campaign

The pastels, ivory & neutrals are what we obsess over with Saashi London. Their unique & versatile cuts & shapes are great to mix & match within each other, or with a pair of jeans for a fun bottomless brunch, in our opinion! The bespoke & made-to-fit pieces showcase the amazing attention to detail Rav, the founder, provides.

Their brand is all about women empowerment, which it notably amazing as seen on their promos & campaigns. Check out more of their collection over on their Instagram
