Welcome to Real Weddings: where we speak to real couples about their wedding planning process, the lead up to the big day, and any advice they have for couples currently planning their wedding.

Get ready to absolutely fall in love with Tenerife, as we look through Anjali & Taran’s stunning & wholesome wedding at the Ritz Carlton Abama, planned entirely by the extremely talented Smazing Events team: Sian & Tarry.

The couple knew they wanted to have an extremely magical & unforgettable ceremony, and wanted to beautifully blend their Western & Indian traditions together into one. Sian & Tarry planned 5 incredible events, each with an entirely different atmosphere to transform the guests to Anjali & Taran’s land of love.

ABOUT THE COUPLE

How did you meet?

We met at a friends birthday party.

Favourite aspects? Or things you wish you did differently?

Our favourite aspect was definitely the food tastings.

One thing we wish we did differently was put more thought into the wedding website. A good website makes it a lot easier for guests to stay informed about key details and for you to manage the rsvps.

The trickiest part of your wedding planning?

Managing all the wedding admin on top of your job and social life.

Your advice to couples planning their wedding?

Be flexible and organised. Delegate as much as you can. Take a step back as the wedding approaches and make sure to enjoy it all!

How were Sian & Tarry as wedding planners?

Sian and Tarry were a pleasure to deal with throughout our wedding planning process. They were always responsive and helpful. Thanks to them, our events ran smoothly, looked spectacular and we were able to relax and enjoy the moment.

Their mehndi

Anjuli & Taran’s Mehndi looks so care-free, that we wish we were a part of it! Sian & Tarry planned for the beautiful event to be held outdoors, underneath the clear blue skies; followed into a starry night – the perfect backdrop. The decor was an elegant red & pink themed, with fairy lights adding that extra special effect after sunset.

THEIR HALDI

The Haldi ceremony was planned in the beautiful Persian Gardens in the Ritz Carlton Abama, with incredible greenery & picturesque views of the island. The decor impeccably matched the tones of the structure, with the vibrant decor providing a cosy & soothing backdrop for the ceremony.

The Haldi (Pithi) ceremony is the first of many for Hindu’s, and this one seems to have perfectly set the tone for a wedding & lifetime of care-free happiness.

THEIR SANGEET

We need a moment for the aerial shot of the Ritz Carlton Abama please! It looks truly incredible.

The Sangeet, a night filled with dances & laughter, had a beautiful theme of modern chic & cosy vibes – the palm tree theme is to die for! For the night before the wedding, it was the perfect way to let loose and get set for the big day.

THEIR WEDDING

It’s decided, Tenerife is the perfect backdrop for a serene wedding ceremony. We can’t decide what we love more: the wedding theme or Anjali’s incredibly unique wedding outfit!

The couple tied the knot in a beautiful beachside ceremony.

THEIR RECEPTION

To bring their events to a close, before they start their new journey together, Anjali & Taran had a beautiful deep-mauve themed wedding reception with all their guests.

If we’ve learnt anything about their wedding, it has to be that they are the most effortlessly chic couple – and we fell in love with each of Anjali’s outfits!
