ABOUT ME

A little bit about me and Majora: Founded in 2021 Majora was created to provide a place for men to find comfortable and contemporary Mojris for Indian weddings. I’ve created two styles of Indian shoes in a few colours to suit your outfit of choice. Our Mojris are a celebration of India’s vibrant, colourful culture and an expression of fine individuality.

THE IDEA

This idea came about whilst I was attending my brother’s wedding. Whilst up on the Mandap, I noticed something I really didn’t expect to see at an Indian wedding. Men wearing trainers, flip flops and work shoes! Hardly anyone wearing traditional Mojris. And those who had been wearing them had already taken them off. Curiosity made me ask around that day to find out why men had chosen to wear anything but Indian shoes and the answers were the same; “uncomfortable”, “not nice”, “couldn’t be bothered”, “they blister my feet”. Funnily enough, I looked down at my blistered heel caused by a questionable pair I had been wearing for the entire week.

For the next few weeks I spent countless hours scrolling through social media, Facebook stalking anyone who had attended an Indian wedding, checking to see what they were wearing. More work shoes, more flip flops – at an Indian wedding, it didn’t look right! And thats when I realised I can do something about this. Fast forward 6 months and the idea to create a contemporary comfortable pair of Indian shoes hadn’t left my mind.

So, I decided to leave my corporate job and begin building Majora with the goal to provide every man attending an Indian wedding with a pair of comfortable Mojris.
