Founded by designer Tracy, the brand The Naviya Edit has grown from strength to strength in the last year, as one of the UK’s newest South Asian contemporary brands. Their mission is to design, curate and provide timeless outfits that you can mix and match into your everyday life.
Born and briefly bought up in Kolkata, India, and being raised Roman Catholic made Tracy want to experiment more and more with her Indian & Western wardrobes. One of the goals of The Naviya Edit is to bridge the gap between modern silhouettes and traditional craftsmanship.
We had a look at their recent collection, and different ways to style 5 of their pieces.
BE A CONSCIOUS BUYER
By shopping timeless pieces that can be used in 2 wardrobes, you are making your wardrobe more evergreen and sustainable.
We are OBSESSED with the newest piece at The Naviya Edit. Remember, when styling an oversized embellished blazer, it’s best to keep the rest of the outfit simple and understated. Let the blazer be the statement piece and avoid adding too many other bold elements. Here are a few ideas for what to style with it:
1) Skinny Jeans and T-Shirt: A pair of skinny jeans and a plain t-shirt can provide a more casual backdrop for the blazer. Add some statement accessories, such as bold earrings or a statement necklace, to complete the look.
2) Wide-Leg Pants and Heels: Wide-leg pants and heels can balance out the oversized blazer and create a chic, sophisticated look. Stick with neutral colors and clean lines to keep the focus on the blazer.
3) Midi Skirt: A midi skirt can create a polished and sophisticated look. Choose a neutral-coloured skirt and pair it with a simple tee, as styled on the left. Finish the look with sleek heels or ankle boots.
The Dalhia Crop Top has stolen our hearts. This versatile and feminine piece can be styled in various ways. Here are a few ideas:
1) High-Waisted Bottoms: Pair the crop top with high-waisted bottoms like jeans, trousers, shorts, or skirts. This will balance out the cropped silhouette and keep your midriff covered. You can choose a neutral-colored bottom for a classic look, or a printed or brightly colored one to add some fun and interest to your outfit.
2) Skirts: Pair the crop top with a midi or maxi skirt for a more formal or dressy occasion. This creates a sophisticated and feminine look. You can choose a flowy or structured skirt depending on your personal style and the occasion.
3) Accessories: Accessorize the outfit with a statement necklace, earrings, or bracelets to add some sparkle and glamour. You can also add a scarf or a hat to create a more playful and bohemian look.
Another versatile one shoulder piece, to dress up and down according to your event.
1) Skirt / Skort: Style the crop top with a midi or maxi skirt for a more formal or dressy occasion. We think a structured skirt would be perfect. You can add some statement earrings and strappy heels for a more elegant look.
2) Palazzo / Wide-Leg Pants: Wide-leg pants can create a chic and sophisticated look when paired with a crop top. Choose a pair of black or neutral-colored pants for a sleek and modern look. You can add some pumps or sandals to elongate your legs and complete the outfit.
3) Black Boots: Pair the look with some sleek knee high or heeled ankle boots. Perfect for a girls night out or a pre-wedding date night!
Wide-leg trousers are a chic wardrobe staple that can be dressed up or down. Here are some of our top styling tips for printed wide-leg trousers:
Jumpers & Knitwear: Pair the trousers with jumpers of knitwear to make the look a bit more casual.
Crop Tops: A crop top can create a fun and playful look when paired with wide-leg trousers. Choose a fitted crop top or a tucked-in tank top to balance out the volume of the trousers.
Chunky Trainers: Perfect for any festival, these fun trousers need to be paired with comfort!
Our favourite thing about the The Naviya Edit Dhalia Pleated Cape Jumpsuit is the detachable cape, which makes the outfit incredibly unique and diverse.
1) Belts: As seen on AnjlisLookBook, we love the added belt which elevated the entire look!
2) Blazer: Defining the jumpsuit with an oversized blazer, and without the detachable cape, really helps dress up the look to a whole new level.
3) Statement Accessories: Accessorize the outfit with statement jewellery, a bold scarf, or a stylish handbag to add some personality and interest to the outfit. You can also add a hat or sunglasses for a more casual and playful look.
