For generations, the bridal chura has held immense significance in various Indian cultures, particularly for Punjabi’s. Not only does it represent a bride’s marital status, but it’s also a special symbol of prosperity as gifted by a bride’s Mama (Mum’s brother).
This cherished set of bangles, typically adorned in red, pink and ivory hues, carries not only tradition but also a touch of personal style, reflecting the bride’s unique taste and personality.
To inspire our bride’s, we have narrowed down some of our favourite Chura designs. Have a look.
This gorgeous Chura design is adorned with gorgeous shells, perfect for a beachside bride.
A classic design is a deep maroon colour, which is a particular favourite for any bride who isn’t opting for a traditionally bright red outfit.
For the pastel pink bride, we are obsessed with this stunning pink & green chura, which complements the look so well.
We are obsessed with how this beautiful bride’s deep red & teal blue chura, which complements her lehenga so well.
Is it just us, or did you never realise that lime green complements red and pink so much?! We love it.
You can’t go wrong with the classic red chura design, which is bound to complement every look there is,
This pink, yellow & gold combo is an aesthetic that we didn’t realise we would love this much.
The traditional faces on this chura & mehndi design complement each other so well. This is definitely something that we haven’t seen done much before.
Is it just us, or is green really taking over recently? Definitely not complaining!
The colour of these chura’s are almost identical to that of the bride’s mehndi & nails. Again, it beautifully contrasts her wedding lehenga.
This bride opted for white chura and floral designs in between on the bandles, and also opted for a silver undertone, as opposed to gold – love it.
Another beautiful & wearable chura set, which will complement all outfits incredibly well – both western and traditional.
A beige chura design is definitely one that we haven’t seen before – and we are absolutely obsessed with how subtle & elegant this one is.
Another classic which will complement almost any look – western or traditional – is a beautiful white chura set.
We love this classic chura set, but are particularly obsessed with the subtle sparkly bangles within.
Mani K Jassal, fashion designer, was the ultimate punjabi bride with her traditional prints, fabrics, colours & chura set.
Gone are the days of not matching our chura to our outfits. If you look closely, you’ll see the white bangles also have hints of pink which tie the entire look together.
This stunning red bridal choora is a beautiful small & subtle set, which has gorgeous ever-green gold bangles hidden within.
The nails, the bangles, the outfit – it’s all so bright and pure – we love it!
This bride definitely went a more glitzy route with her chura, and it’s complemented her bridal outfit so well. Definitely one to consider.
