8th February 2023
One of the most awaited weddings of 2023 is here: Sidharth Malhotra & Kiara Advani tied the knot in a picture-perfect ceremony, which took place at the Suryagarh Palace, Jaisalmer.
After years of are-they-aren’t-they speculation, everyone truly deep down did know that they would. If you’re a Bollywood junkie like us, you would have seen the numerous interviews with the couples shutting down any speculation. It was truly the best ‘hard-launch’ of a boyfriend!
If you aren’t heartbroken over the fact that Sidharth Malhotra is now a married man, then keep reading for some of the beautiful details of their wedding.
THEIR LOVE STORY
It is commonly believed that Sid & Kiara met and fell in love on the set of Shershaah (2021), when actually, they had first met when they crashed the wrap-up party of Lust Stories (2018)!
The couples beautiful 3-day ceremony took place at Suryagarh Hotel, Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Following in the trends of numerous bollywood celebrities, including Katrina Kaif & Vicky Kaushal and Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas, this couple also opted for a royal wedding affair in a stunning fort.
Aside from also falling in love with the venue, it was a practical option for the couple; given that majority of Sid’s family reside near Northern India.
The Suryagarh Hotel, is known as the gateway of the Thar Desert, and is an old haveli converted into a five-star hotel. It houses 80 luxurious villas, with luxurious amenities and incredible views.
The pre-wedding events took place between Saturday 4th February to Monday 6th February, with the actual wedding occurring around sunset on Tuesday 7th February.
Unlike the recent intimate celebrity weddings of Masaba Gupta & Satyadeep Misra and Athiya Shetty & KL Rahul, Sid & Kiara opted for a traditional big fat Punjabi wedding, with tons of their guests being flown in from various locations, being driven in a luxury fleet of cars, and being given spa and relaxation vouchers within the fort hotel.
It is rumoured that this is the start of the events, as the couple are supposedly having star-studded wedding receptions in Mumbai and Delhi later this week.
Ever since the first image of Kiara & Manish Malhotra arrived at the airport together on Saturday 4th February, it was rumoured that the couple would, of course, be styled by the icon himself – and the speculation was right.
Manish Malhotra has previously designed for a number of celebrity weddings, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt for her mehendi and Kanika Kapoor. Everyone was speculating a bright red or ivory lehenga, and against all odds, Kiara adorned the most perfect old-rose pink lehenga, and Sidharth Malhotra wore a complimentary ivory sherwani.
When it comes to Kiara Advani’s bridal look, she looks absolutely flawless. It’s obvious to see that Kiara has opted for the skin-inalism trend, as she champions her natural beauty and muted tones in her blush, eyeshadow and lipstick.
To complement her rose lehenga, we can see the perfect complimentary tones used by her hair & makeup stylist. She also embraced the classic bridal tradition of a sleek-low-bun decorated with red-pink flowers.
Kiara also opted for minimal mehndi and sleek, natural nails. Staying in sync with her rosy and less-is-more approach, this subtle rendition of henna works wonders.
The thing we love most, is that she looks like a super comfortable bride.
Alongside her neutral and muted look, we love how Kiara opted for a baby pink Choora. It completed her entire ensemble to give the soft-girl-next-door-vibe, where she enhanced her natural beauty.
Our absolute favourite aspect of Kiara’s entire look is her thoughtful Kaleere charms. Kiara chose to attach thoughtful jewellery into her look, which represented hers and Sid’s relationship perfectly.
Amidst stars, moons, butterflies & the couples initials, there is a heartfelt dedication to Sid’s beloved pup Oscar (who unfortunately passed away last year). There are also symbols of their favourite travel destination & other bites of their love story woven into the beautiful tradition.
