Nestled in the between Hampshire & Basingstoke, within 315 acres of lush greenery & serene landscapes, Oakley Hall is officially on the map as an exceptional choice for multicultural and Asian weddings.
A wedding venue that feels quintessentially British in all the right ways, whilst providing that balance of a contemporary and cosy environment for you to host your most special & awaited wedding week.
We were invited by the teams at Oakley Hall & Guides For Brides to explore; and here’s why we love it.
OAKLEY HALL HISTORY
The venue, which dates back to 1795, has been transformed from a family home, to a boarding school, to a wedding and conference venue more recently; after a major £4 million restoration project. A venue nestled with stories and history at every corner.
With 315 acres of stunning landscape, Oakley Hall is the the ideal romantic wedding venue, hosting up to 350 guests with 50 rooms of on-site accommodation. The magnificent refurbished house radiates is perfect for an indoor or outdoor wedding, with various spaces for different pre-wedding celebrations.
Along with being licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, the venue also built with the necessary approvals for fire ceremonies. The perfect oasis for you, your families and your guests to exclusively use over a few days.
Oakley Hall is split into the historical Georgian manor house and the newly renovated hotel extension, which hosts 50 luxurious and spacious bedrooms for you and your guests.
Within the main house, there are 7 different decadent rooms, which range in capacity up to 120 people; making it perfect to host pre-wedding events with a smaller gathering. For events such as the choora, sagan, or even a separate space for the children; we love that Oakley Hall has versatile and practical spaces built under one roof.
The newly refurbished Garden Pavilion is fitted out with neutral decor and an entire wall of natural lighting, creating the perfect blank canvas with an indoor-outdoor vibe. Attached to the main building, but decked out with very different fixtures & furnishing to allow for tons of differentiation in decor between events.
With an inbuilt bar, Oakley Hall allows in-house bar service along with the option for dry hire for your events.
The Garden Pavilion can fit 400 theatre style and 350 dining guests.
Perfect for an intimate rehearsal dinner or pre-wedding event, the Garden Suite is located at the heart of the manor house overlooking the 315 acres of land. With plenty of natural light and newly painted neutral walls, this is a popular choice for some of the more intimate events at an Asian wedding or a civil ceremony brunch.
The Garden Suite can fit 106 theatre style and 120 dining guests.
For those opting for a more traditional quintessentially British vibe in a particular event, The Library is the perfect room filled with tons of character. Each of the books remains following the boarding school era of the building; wherein this was the literal library that students used.
The Library can fit 60 theatre style and 40 dining guests.
For those of you opting for an outdoor ceremony, the 315 acres worth of grounds at Oakley Hall are absolutely divine. With the necessary licenses in place, the spacious grounds offer the perfect opportunity for you to get creative with your guests, your seating plans, your dance floor, food stations and so much more.
Throughout our stay at Oakley Hall, we were keen to understand any blockers around using particular suppliers; as a pleasant surprise, the manor house was extremely flexible with bringing in external caterers, dry hire, access timings and much more.
With Asian weddings, there are so many nuances and you need to have a team onsite who is open, flexible and helps turn your dreams into a reality.
Jassi & George recently held their civil wedding and Indian wedding reception at Oakley Hall, with Blackstone Caterers. By making use of the stunning grounds and versatile rooms, each event looked absolutely stunning.
At Oakley Hall, we were impressed to see their home-grown wide range of fruits, vegetables and herbs that are featured in their seasonal dishes; cooked in their kitchen garden (which you can tour!). Alongside that, they aim to use as many locally sourced ingredients within 50 miles of the venue – perfect for the sustainably conscious couple.
With various rooms ranging from Four Poster suites, Courtyard suites, Garden cottages, Deluxe bedrooms and Executive bedrooms; Oakley Hall is built in the perfect way to map out and segregate your guests into groups or sides of the wedding party, whilst still maintaining the same level of contemporary quality under one roof.
Spaciously built, with large wedding lehengas in mind, the room sizes are perfect for wedding guests; alongside spacious family rooms and wedding suites with ample natural lighting and mirrors.
To give it the ultimate ‘local-destination’ wedding vibe, the entire grounds are available for exclusive hire for your events. To get in touch with the team, you can get in touch here.
